DRRNetPhils 2024-2026

Following the 8th General Assembly held on September 24–26, 2024, the Disaster Risk Reduction Network Philippines has identified priority actions to guide its advocacy and programming over the next two years.

These actions build on 15 years of experience in community-based disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, and respond to the evolving challenges facing Filipino communities.

Climate and Disaster Resilience, Leaving No One Behind

Through the expertise of our members, we will continue to work with communities and government on risk reduction, especially the most vulnerable. We will push for better policies so that disaster and climate funds and resources reach the most at-risk communities.

Civic Space
and Democratic Participation

Civil society organizations are facing red-tagging, threats, and shrinking space to operate. The network will continue to speak out against these attacks, defend democratic spaces and our right to organize, and strengthen our presence in government platforms.

Localization
and Locally-Led Development

DRRNetPhils will strengthen its advocacies for funding and decision-making power to improve for local civil society and communities who know their local landscape best. We will also help local organizations build their own resources and reduce reliance on foreign donors.

Knowledge Management and Communication

The network will maximise online tools such as our website, social media, and learning spaces to share stories, good practices, improve linkages and DRRM updates. We will also improve coordination among members so that we can respond faster and more effectively.
